Amazon has confirmed to CNN that they plan to donate $1 million in cash to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund. The company will also contribute another $1 million by streaming the event on Amazon Video.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is set to meet with Trump next week. The visit comes as tech leaders seek closer ties with the incoming administration ruling America.

Bezos has publicly praised Trump after his 2024 victory.
“Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback,” he had written.

Meta, led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, also donated $1 million to the inaugural fund. The contribution followed a private meeting between Zuckerberg and Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump previously criticized Bezos over The Washington Post and tax policies. In 2015, Trump tweeted, “If @amazon ever had to pay fair taxes, its stock would crash and it would crumble like a paper bag. The @washingtonpost scam is saving it!”

However, relations appear to be improving as tech executives, including Bezos, look to align with the new administration post American election of 2024.
