Nancy Pelosi Injured And Is Hospital

Nancy Pelosi Hospitalized During Congressional Trip to Luxembourg

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been hospitalized after sustaining an injury while traveling with a congressional delegation in Luxembourg, her office announced Friday.

Pelosi, who currently serves as speaker emerita and represents California in Congress, “is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals,” according to her spokesman Ian Krager. The nature and severity of her injury were not immediately disclosed.

The incident occurred during a bipartisan delegation visit to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, a pivotal World War II engagement between German and Allied forces in the Ardennes region. The congressional group had planned to participate in observances Friday and Saturday alongside veterans, active duty service members, and various officials.

Despite her hospitalization, Pelosi expressed gratitude through her spokesman to the veterans and people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their World War II service and contributions to European peace. The trip held personal significance for Pelosi, whose uncle Johnny fought in World War II.

“She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements,” Krager said, adding that she “looks forward to returning home to the U.S. soon.”

The delegation’s itinerary had included stops in both Belgium and Luxembourg for ceremonies marking the historic battle’s anniversary.
