Director Sam Taylor-Johnson and actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson made a notable family appearance Tuesday night at the premiere of “Kraven The Hunter,” accompanied by Sam’s adult daughters from her previous marriage.
The premiere marked an uncommon public outing for the family, with Angelica, 27, and Jessie Jopling, 18, joining their mother and stepfather for the R-rated Marvel adaptation’s debut. The couple’s younger daughters, Wylda, 14, and Romy, 12, did not attend due to the film’s rating, Aaron explained to E! News.
“Kraven The Hunter,” releasing Friday, features Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular Spider-Man antagonist in Sony’s expanding Marvel universe, following entries like “Venom” and “Madame Web.” The film chronicles Kraven’s evolution from the son of a ruthless crime lord, played by Russell Crowe, to becoming the world’s greatest hunter. The cast includes Ariana DeBose as voodoo priestess Calypso and Alessandro Nivola as Rhino.
The Taylor-Johnsons’ relationship began during the production of “Nowhere Boy” in 2008, when Aaron, then approximately 18, was cast as John Lennon by Sam, who was 42 at the time. Their age difference has attracted persistent public attention throughout their relationship.
“The attention was intrusive,” Aaron told New York Magazine in 2017, discussing the initial reaction to their relationship. The couple maintained professional boundaries during filming, but their connection was evident to the production team. They became engaged exactly one year after meeting and married in 2012.
The couple has since collaborated professionally, co-writing and producing the 2018 film adaptation of “A Million Little Pieces,” which Sam directed and Aaron starred in. They have generally maintained privacy regarding their personal life, particularly concerning their blended family.
